The spirited enthusiasm of KCA University’s Masters students was palpable as they embarked on an enriching academic excursion to the city of Kigali, Rwanda. The trip, which took place from 17th September 2023 to 22nd September 2023, proved to be an immersive and transformative experience for the students, offering a comprehensive understanding of Rwanda’s dynamic socio-economic landscape.
During their visit, the students had the opportunity to explore a diverse array of institutions and landmarks, immersing themselves in the rich cultural tapestry of Rwanda. The itinerary included visits to prominent establishments such as Legacy Clinics, the Rwanda Development Board, the Presidential Palace, the Genocide Memorial Center, and the bustling Kimironko Market.
Further, the students had the privilege of touring the renowned Bakhresa Grain Milling Limited, a key player in the processing of wheat products into maize flour and five other valuable by-products, thereby championing a sustainable approach to production processing with zero wastage.
The students were accompanied by the Dr. Ibrahim Tirimba Ondabu, their senior lecturer specializing in financial management, during their visit to Bakhresa Grain Milling Limited. Dr. Ondabu’s guidance and expertise undoubtedly enriched the students’ understanding of the intricate financial dynamics and operational strategies crucial to the success of such industrial ventures.
The visit not only provided the students with firsthand exposure to Rwanda’s thriving business environment but also fostered a deeper appreciation for the country’s resilience and remarkable progress in various sectors.
