The Division of Research, Innovation and Outreach is responsible for enhancing the University’s performance and reputation in research, research training, innovation, commercialization, collaboration with stakeholders, nationally and internationally.

Guided by the university vision and mission as well as key strategic pillars, KCA University is committed to building a dynamic and impactful research and innovation culture that enriches the scholarly experience of our students and faculty, creates new knowledge across a broad array of disciplines and helps improve the economic, social and cultural vitality locally and internationally..

The Division of Research, Innovation and Outreach is thus tasked with the following responsibilities:

Overseeing the development of a robust research and innovation infrastructure and formulation of appropriate policies
Overseeing research, innovation and outreach planning, coordination, administration, monitoring and evaluation as well as logistical support at all levels
Coordinating and sourcing research funds
Protection of intellectual assets, commercialization, dissemination and publication of research and innovations
Promoting strategic alliances with Government, industry, local and international research institutions
Leading in research and innovation branding, setting standards, quality assurance/control and capacity building.
Coordinating seminars, consultancies, workshops, conferences and symposia.
Promoting research benchmarking and exchange of researchers and innovators.
Negotiating and managing research and innovation contracts and consultancies
Guiding dissemination of research findings and maintaining a database of accredited journals.
Overseeing the establishment and operationalization of research centres and institutes in the University.
Organizing research capacity building for both students and faculty
Performing any other function pertaining to research, innovation and outreach.
