The RSD team in conjunction with CTLE is planning a Research Dissemination Forum. The theme is “Mainstreaming Challenge Based Learning in Teaching and Learning”.
The KCA Research team led by Dr. Rotich, Prof. Muchiri, Prof. Patrick Ogao, Dr. Lilian Korir and the team from Lincoln University won a grant and in partnership with Lincoln University have in the last 2 years carried out research on the implementation of the Challenge Based Learning approach. The MSc Data Analytics class was used as a pilot group to implement the Challenge Based Learning program, in partnership with 2 institutions in Kiambu and Kitui who provided real challenges and data that the students used to implement the Challenge-based approach to provide real-time solutions. The research was concluded in the year 2022. It is on this basis that the Research Support and Dissemination directorate has provided a forum where the approach and findings can be disseminated to key stakeholders within the Industry and in Academia, with a view of promoting the Challenge Based Learning Approach which is a student-centered learning approach to institutions of higher learning.
