KCA University Center for Climate Change Action was established to address the pressing challenges posed by climate change on a global scale. The university is cognizant of the fact that climate change presents significant threats to ecosystems, economies, and livelihoods worldwide, making it imperative for institutions to respond proactively.
The Center’s mission is to build a critical mass of leaders in Africa who are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to “Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts” as underscored by Sustainable Development Goal #13. Through specialised training programs, the Center aims to empower faculty, students, researchers, policymakers, and industry practitioners to engage in climate resilience actions at various levels.
Serving as a hub for interdisciplinary dialogue and partnership building, the Center will facilitate innovative approaches to address complex climate challenges and drive collective action towards sustainable solutions. The Center will play a pivotal role in shaping climate policy discourse at the national, regional, and international levels
