KCA University stands at a pivotal moment in the evolution of higher education in Africa, where knowledge must not only be created but also transformed into solutions that respond to our continent’s challenges and aspirations. 4th KCA University Innovation Week and Industry Summit 2025 embodies our strategic commitment to knowledge commercialization, sustainable development, and inclusive enterprise.
Through this summit, we affirm our role as a convener of ideas and a catalyst for innovation ecosystems that connect academia, industry, government, and society. The theme , Innovate! Elevate! Impact! challenges all of us—researchers, students, and partners—to pursue innovations that are not only impactful but scalable, sustainable, and transformative.
Let this be a platform where ideas transcend theory, partnerships flourish, and our collective imagination defines the future we want to see in Kenya and across the continent.

The Division of Research, Innovation and Outreach is pleased to spearhead the planning and execution of the 4th Innovation Week and Industry Summit. This event is more than a showcase—it is a strategic operational tool for translating research into impact.
Our focus this year is on strengthening pathways for commercialization, enhancing industry–university collaboration, and building the innovation capabilities of our faculty and students. From curated pitch sessions and IP clinics to investor forums and sustainability challenges, the summit is structured to deliver tangible outcomes.
We invite all stakeholders within and beyond the university to actively engage with this initiative.
Prof. Shaukat Abdulrazak
Principal Secretary for Science, Research and Innovation.
Prof. Shaukat Abdulrazak is the immediate former Director for the Division for Africa, at the International Atomic Energy Agency. Under his supervision, he facilitates IAEA technical cooperation, in several thematic areas; Food and Agriculture, Health and Nutrition, Industrial application and Radiation Technology, Water and Environment, Energy planning and nuclear power, nuclear knowledge development and Management, Safety to 48 countries in Africa.
Abdulrazak is former CEO, Kenya National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (2008-2014). He has over 30 years working experience as Professor and administrator at university, leader and advisor on matters related to Science Technology and Innovation. He served as Vice-Chancellor of Umma University and Deputy VC at Egerton University, Former Governor of ICGEB, Ex Chair of Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute, Board member of Kenya Medical Research Institute, member of the Kenya National Economic Social Council.
He is a Fellow of the World Academy of Sciences, the African Academy of Sciences Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences. He has published widely in international journals, scientific conference and symposium proceedings. His Undergraduate studies were at Egerton University, Kenya, his MSc and PhD Agricultural Sciences, from University of Aberdeen, UK and his Post Doctorate from Shimane University, Japan.
