Welcome to the Research, Innovation and Outreach Division at KCA University, a residence for distinguished and budding scholars in various fields ranging from natural sciences, humanities, economics, education, business, creative arts and information technology. We are committed to creating an outstanding climate of support for KCA University researchers and innovators to enable stellar research and innovation advances. We will achieve this by building a dynamic research and innovation culture which promotes ethical research conduct and establishment of strong linkages, partnerships and collaborations locally, regionally and internationally. This is meant to enhance learning experiences for our students, create new knowledge, products and / or services that solve real community problems in Kenya, in the region, and across the world.

The KCA University’s mission is to offer high quality, integrated and market–driven teaching, research and extension services in a safe and supportive academic environment. Indeed, teaching, research and outreach is the core mandate of a university. Thus, within a safe and lively learning environment the Research, Innovation and Outreach division at KCA University will support the generation and dissemination of new knowledge in various fields which will impact the quality of learning; enhance industry linkages, partnerships and collaborations locally, regionally and internationally which will impact on market–driven teaching, research and innovations. Further, generation and sharing of evidence–based research and innovations will inform policies that strengthen institutions, solve community, regional and Africa problems and spur inclusive growth, and build the Africa we want.

The Research, Innovation and Outreach Division at KCA University is in charge of creating a supportive and enabling environment that stimulates outstanding research and creativity. Its main responsibilities will include: capacity building of academic staff to undertake research, sourcing for funding opportunities for researchers, providing administrative support for researchers to manage research funds, managing research partnerships and collaborations, and providing strategic direction of the KCA University research agenda. We believe this will encourage students, alumni & academic staff to engage in result–oriented research activities in their areas of specialization especially those in line with the university’s priorities and are relevant to the needs of the immediate community, Kenya, and the rest of the world. This will help position the university as a center of teaching, research, and innovation excellence focused on advancing knowledge, driving change. Together, we will take KCA University to the next levels.
